If only that happens in Egypt!
I woke up today on a couple of news events that made me wonder if only that could happen in Egypt.
The first news item was about the Pakistani election where Musharraf's party lost and politician are calling for him to quit his post. The second news story was about Cuban leader Castro decision to retire and appointing his brother as his replacement.
It is time now for the Mubarak clan to go as well. If only that happens in Egypt, I'll be a happy man. If we could just have a free election for once in our history! The sad problem is that it will never happen willingly in Egypt. What's likely to happen though is that Mubarak would step down and appoint his son Gamal to the presidency post.
2008 is shaping up to be the year of change; with new presidents in the US, Cuba, probably Pakistan and probably Egypt as well; as I predict that Mubarak will handoff his post to his son sometime this year.

Ahlan ya Orabi,
I was googling information on Egypt's health care system. My dream is to go to Egypt and work in the public health sector on the field of HIV/AIDs. I came across your blog and noticed that your name or last name is Orabi like mine.. Oraby is not a common Egyptian name so its nice to discover others with similar names.
