How long Egyptian Dictator will last?

Mubarak the Egyptian dictator have been in power since 1981. I would say that during his years in power Egypt have pulled backward even further than ever before, with incredible unemployment stats and unprecedented level of corruption. What make matters worse is that he is grooming his son Jimmy to be the next pharaoh once Mubarak dies.

Why he was allowed to stay in power for so long without being challenged?

I think it is due to many reasons, but mostly because Egyptians are illiterates (around 50%) and they don't know any better. Most Egyptians are afraid to talk about Mubarak in public so they won't get punished for saying the wrong thing. Egyptian live in fear and poverty but they cope well because they get used to the pain. The security apparatus planted fear in most Egyptian with oppression and torture.
